Volunteer
Anyone from any background can disassemble and sort computer components into recycling categories. Those with more experience - gained at our facility or elsewhere - will check computers for working components and assemble working components into refurbished systems.
Other ways to help include testing everyday used electronic items, sorting cables, factory resetting electronics, cleaning and dusting items to be sold in our thrift store. This includes keyboards, streaming devices, VCR’s, stereos, turntables, lamps, solar panels, small appliances, gaming consoles, and many other miscellaneous electronic items arriving as donated e-waste.
Artists can help by using computer parts and electronics as art supplies to make jewelry, sculptures, and other creatively repurposed items which will be sold in our thrift store.
Hands-on work with computer parts in a fun geeky environment is what you'll get with this volunteer opportunity while helping keep e-waste out of landfills. If you like working with computers, or just want to do something about the tides of waste produced with each computer upgrade, come here to learn hands-on about how computers are recycled and how many of their parts can be put to good use.
